Loosening

I felt the bonds loosening

As your spirit slipped away

As the calling in your heart

Drew you home

To the love of the ancestors

Thet were there to receive you

In a warm enbrace

As you left this earthly plain

And felt your heart surrouded

By the light of your beloved daughter

As this grief and letting go

Opens deep inside my soul

I wonder how it was I held

With all of the pain that remained

Following in the lonely wake

Of your absence

There was a long journey to undertake

To reach the distant shore

Of wisdom

Understanding

And forgiveness

And as this portal opens

I see them setting sail

Loosening the ties to ancestral lands

Just as you struggled to stand

On those final earthly days

Trials and tribulations

Are the undoing of the ego

They loosen the restricting tirs

Of blindness

And emotional misunderstanding

And all of this

Every single step

Was meant

Was never really

A mistake

Angels are with me now

Holding me gently within the open space

As my heart breaks

Open to this loosening

Reminding me of the

Genuine possibility

Of divine and unconditional love

Unfolding its secrets

For all of the aching hearts

Of a waiting humanity
