Do you remember?

Do you remember when

We smiled with the innocence of youth

And joy surrounded us

As we danced freely

In an open field

Of possibility

Back then

When we were young

It seemed there were so many songs

To be sung

So much potential to become

Before loss

Undid the path to trust

Disappointments piling up

Filling our mouths with sand

Come now

Give me your hand

Let us walk away from this place

Of loss and emptiness

And let our remembering

Of youth

Open the closed petals of our heart centre

Where we discover once again

Our thirst for the spring of life

Surely it is not too late

For us to rediscover

After feeling

And fully surrendering

To our pain

What it might truly mean

To love and hope

And trust

In life again

I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

    1. I often think so too but sadly that is not life. We do have to mature and go through all kinds of things. Maybe its a dream to imagine we can recapture these feelings of youth, but sometimes I feel glimpses. Love to you ❤

  3. Absolutely beautiful. I feel that yearning for youth & the way things once were, but then there has to be something to bring us back to wanting to live in the present, that hope and trust in life again that you gently bring us around to in the last lines. I LOVE it 🌷
