Do you remember when
We smiled with the innocence of youth
And joy surrounded us
As we danced freely
In an open field
Of possibility
Back then
When we were young
It seemed there were so many songs
To be sung
So much potential to become
Before loss
Undid the path to trust
Disappointments piling up
Filling our mouths with sand
Come now
Give me your hand
Let us walk away from this place
Of loss and emptiness
And let our remembering
Of youth
Open the closed petals of our heart centre
Where we discover once again
Our thirst for the spring of life
Surely it is not too late
For us to rediscover
After feeling
And fully surrendering
To our pain
What it might truly mean
To love and hope
And trust
In life again
Beautiful, Deborah.

This was beautiful. It started with that magical period of our youth when innocence reigned.
Sometimes, I think life would be better if we stayed innocent.

I often think so too but sadly that is not life. We do have to mature and go through all kinds of things. Maybe its a dream to imagine we can recapture these feelings of youth, but sometimes I feel glimpses. Love to you ❤

Absolutely beautiful. I feel that yearning for youth & the way things once were, but then there has to be something to bring us back to wanting to live in the present, that hope and trust in life again that you gently bring us around to in the last lines. I LOVE it 🌷
