Gentle man

In this day and age of disrespect

Where love and support and kindness

Seem to have fallen out of favour

It seems to me that over time

You have come to be my saviour

For I had long ago despaired

Of ever finding love

And my past experiences  led me to believe

There would never ever be

One who could

Hold my heart so tenderly

And today when you said to me

You deserve a gentleman

I finally understood

What that means

Some one not afraid to be kind

Who finds strength in vulnerability

Seeing calmly and deeply 

Into the heart of things

Who is willing to share

Support and power

With the precious one

Who only appears to stand behind him
