Tapping into Source through our breath

We are here and it is our divine right to have a personal experience of Source. Just as Jesus claimed direct access to the power of God so can we. As cells in the body of the Universe/God/Source we are wired to connect to that source from within us which guides both our body and our soul. And our soul is multi-dimensional, in that it exists on many levels and in different worlds, In addition it is through our breath that we connect to the world and to our spiritual source, when breath stops then life is extinguished within our body, even as our spirit is released to another plane, learning goes on but life in that body ends.

Oxygen from the breath powers and feeds and purifies our cells, carbon dioxide is made and then released through our breath and so the in breath and out breath reminds us always that we float in a river of energy, a vast sea of energies with many tributaries through which the ‘prana’ or life force, power and energy flows. As we breathe in and out we can become conscious of this connection, of this flow, of this energy.

Kyle Gray, Angel Intuitive and spiritual teacher shares the following affirmation on the breath in his book Raise Your Vibration : High Vibe Tools to Support Your Spiritual Awakening.

When I breathe, I connect to the power that created me

When I breathe, I am reminded that I am not alone

When I breathe, I restore my being with pure life force

Buddhist teacher Thich Knat Hanh reminds us that as we breathe in and out we can both connect to our inner child while also smiling to ourselves in what ever emotional state we are experiencing. In opening to our emotions via the breath we allow them to flow through rather than dam up, by blessing such emotions and seeing them as teachers we can find both a peace and a state of release.

When our sense of connection gets lost through negative thinking and anxiety a form of bracing or holding of our breath also occurs. To shift out of this freeze or holding pattern we can lay our hands on our abdomen, our diaphragm, or our collar bone and concentrate gently on the movements of these parts of our anatomy in an effort to connect and bring healing energy inward. Breathing deeply in we can concentrate on the air or prana filling up our lungs and then we can release that prana, through the exhalation As we do we become aware that we are a part of the flow of life, and that life is flowing through us in the form of breath, of life, of energy, and of emotions which are nothing more than our own spirits particular energy in motion (e motion.)

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. Just remembering to breathe can be such a grounding and soothing experience – i am guilty of holding my breath in times of stress. Thanks for the reminder
