An emotional reaction to the Queen’s passing and some astrological reflections.

It was a shock to hear the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death a moment ago.. I was so sad and the enormity of her life and dedication to the task she was given as destiny at such a young age really hit me big time. I had been watching a few documentaries lately on her life and exploring her astrology as I have been interested in the astrology of Princess Diana, Charles and the Princes for quite a while. What struck me most in the last exploration of her chart and after watching another documentary on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was the placement of the Moon and Neptune and the Black Moon Lilith in Leo in the Queen’s chart that sits smack bang on the Sun in Leo in the chart of Meghan which is placed only 5 and 10 degrees apart from both Mars and the North Node in Leo respectively. North Node in Leo people are here to live true to a strong sense of inner self and calling that often puts them at odds with the collective (North Node in Leo naturally opposes the South Node in Aquarius). It struck me when I saw that a few months ago that in marrying Meghan Prince Harry was in some way living out something his grandmother could not in breaking away. The public often in lacking this insight tends to pillory them both which is sad really.

The Queen was my mother’s contemporary and seeing her always reminded me of my Mum. They did look a little alike and were born 2 years apart. The Queen ended up living 3 more years than my mother did who died at the age of 93 in 2017. That suppression of the wild lion like part for women of that age is not lost on me and even for the men of that Neptune in Leo generation (including my dad and beloved Godfather) they had to do so much that was demanded or expected of them, being born just before the onset of the Great Depression and often to parents who suffered through an earlier World War they we born at a time of great crisis and change. Neptune often involves sacrifices, and placed in Leo relates to self sacrifice, the Black Moon Lilith has to do with being outcast as a woman for being true to one’s authentic nature and not under the thumb of any man or patriarchal mindset, in this case it is interesting to think of the backseat role Prince Phillip took in his wife’s life and yet he was also a very strong support to her as well. The Queen could not really defy anyone in her role and was prepared to take on the burden of responsibility which passed to her after her father’s death when she was only in her early twenties, at that time Saturn was passing over her. This kind of enforced restriction of duty and circumstance is shown in her chart by the placement of Mars in Aquarius in square to Saturn in Scorpio. It is interesting to note how strong the Neptune in Leo influence is as it is involved in a fixed sign t-square (see below.)

The Queen’s chart is very strong in fixed signs which shows her qualities of endurance and tenacity. She has the Sun in Taurus which relates to steadfastness, and often stubbornness, being ruled by Venus it also relates to values of earthiness, Queen Elizabeth loved her time in nature, riding and walking, She had both Mars and Jupiter in the fixed sign of Aquarius in quite a close conjunction, 20 and 22 degrees respectively as well as Saturn in the fixed sign of Scorpio, very close at 24 degrees to the placement of Prince Charles, Sun in that Mars and Pluto ruled sign. It is known that the connection of Saturn with the Sun from child to parent often has a restrictive influence, but in this case the suppression of deep emotion in the queen (Mars and Saturn square each other in her chart as they do in the chart of Meghan Markle) was carried on in Charles’ own deeply suppressed passionate and emotional nature that enabled him to deeply love someone he was not permitted by convention to marry (Saturn influence) and conduct a secretive (Pluto as Lord of the Underworld rules his Sun) affair with her for many years causing hurt and a sense of abandonment for both Princess Diana and I am sure Prince Harry too. These squares in the Queens chart also aspect Neptune in Leo at 22 degrees of the sign which intensifies the duty and sacrifice themes.

It is interesting to me that Queen Elizabeth’s North Node in Cancer and South Node in Capricorn show that this was an incarnation which would challenge her to become more in touch with feelings or emotions. Princess Diana had the Sun in Cancer and it was her death that made the Queen realise that a more emotionally engaged contact was needed with the public.. Diana’s own emotional struggles as a young wife with deep abandonment issues would have triggered and perplexed the Queen who would not have known how to react to her emotionally.. My older brother has this nodal positioning and he also often distances from emotional situations due to not feeling able to cope well in those situations but he stays very close to his children and works with his son closely.

Prince Charles is now finally King and it has been a long wait. This is an enormous time of change.. I cannot fully explain the grief that seems to be bursting out of me when I read anything about the Queen today on the internet.. I just admire her so much for all that she endured, even if I am not a fan of emotional suppression I know for a fact that we only express what we can and what conditions allow us by right of birth and circumstance as well as inner temperment..

It is clear to me that Queen Elizabeth as born for this particular destiny and her life will have a bearing on all of her family, the ripple influences of what she endured, gave birth to and tried her best to cope with will continue to play on along the generations. I just pray there is not too much public nastiness thrown at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following her peaceful passing away.. It seems so fitting that as a Sun sign Taurus the Queen passed away in her much loved Balmoral close to the Scottish Highlands and even more the death is very timely with Uranus and the North Node transiting her t-square in fixed signs while squaring natal Neptune from the sign of Taurus.

Uranus in fact transitted the Queen’s Sun at 0 and 12 minutes of Taurus in early 2018. That was the year that Prince Harry and Meghan Markel married.. The breaking away of these two as the result of many issues of restriction and repression is to be expected on some level as Uranus seeks freedom and change as well as liberation from restriction. Descendants carry the living challenges forth in their own unique ways.

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us."
