Loneliness : soul’s deep calling

Lonelieness can be the doorway

That leads us to a deeper aloneness

And here if we can bear the pain

Courageously

Possibly we will find

An opening path

That leads us to

The doorway of our soul

There may be in many of our lives

A time where the way to the soul

Is barred

Or seems to depart

We may surrender it

Willingly for a price

Not knowing for a while

That in the end that price was far

Too great to bear

Leading us on to an ever deepening

Despair

There is a beautiful body of water

That sustains us from within

Some of us fear to drown

There

And so often we seem to

But then we forget it was just our mind

Sometimes

We need

To leave the mind behind

For a while

To take that swim

There are wild creatures we will find there

In that profound watery kingdom

Of Neptune

There is wonderful wisdom

To be found

As we dance with shadows

And healing magic too

We may only find the way to

If we risk the deepening aloneness

Of our soul’s

True calling

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. I think the water would be too cold at the cold … but loneliness is always in my soul .. if it wasn’t for my writings, and friends like you to chat to, life would be harder for me ..

    1. I LOVE your poems. They truly resonate with me and my experiences. Every day I copy them to my clipboard and then save them to Microsoft Word so as I can have them downloaded rather than just bookmarked and forgotten. Keep pushin’ on… I am looking forward to my next read!
