After years of therapy I am realizing some of it has been problematic due to the fact it has never brought the focus to the way I breathe. Lately I have been watching many videos on the subject and learning a great deal.. Today I was recommended this link on You Tube. What Max Strom has to say about PTSD and breath work as well as our epidemic of anxiety, depression, stress and loneliness is super important.. Many people are in flight from their grief and that also relates to lung and anxiety/panic disorder symptoms.
I was interested to read that programs from Stamford University have led the United States Defence Department to recommend both yoga and breathwork as the most effective forms of helping PTSD in their troops including the Navy Seals who use the focusing and calming techniques before going into battle. Not a lot of therapists will tell you this. I really hope you get a lot out of listening to this video.
