I need you (unravel)

I need you to understand

For I am human

Born for relationship

Needing to be seen as I am

And when you turn away or tell me

Do not tell me about your hurt

As “I hurt too’

What does that do to an innocent child

Struggling to understand

Whose hurt this is?

There are ‘spiritual teachers’

Who gain widespread appeal

Who may never have bought wisdom to

Their ancestor’s suffering

So they say its all a ‘story’

But then what of the core sentences of trauma

That speak of genuine hurt or neglect

That still lives deep inside our cells

Needing to be recognised

Do we just say it all

Lacks meaning and then

Mock the silly ‘ego’?

I do understand

All of your worldly success

Can never truly heal that deepest of holes

Inside your self

Only love can do that

So seek to understand before you label it

Only a story of the ego

For you do not really yet fully understand

Whose ancestral story it may be

For your own task

May be to slowly

Painfully

And carefully

Unravel it
