The following reading comes from Tian Dayton’s book The Soul’s Companion:
I will not chase self today. Rather, I will trust. I will wait for self to emerge. I will be aware of self. When I try to find self, grab it and hold onto it, I reduce it to what it is not. Self is present in all things and I am present in self. Life is constantly in motion and self moves with the waves of life – of the living particle patterned into all things. When I try to locate self in a particular place, I cannot find it because self is equally present in all things. I cannot hold self. Other people cannot hold or withhold my self. The self I seek is a state that I access through me. I cannot make the experience stationary so that I know where to look to find it. I can only be present within the fluid state of self. Self breaths as I breathe, self is with me and I am with self. We are one.
I will be in the presence of self.
What the superior man seeks is in himself,
What the mean man seeks is in others.

Indeed a marvellous post shared with great message

Those last two lines about where superior and mean mean seek really hit. Very interesting to reflect on.
Love what you’ve shared here. So beautiful ❤️
