Oh my am I grateful today.. I just read a wonderful post on symptoms of surviving trauma by Don’t Lose Hope and hard as the list was to read my heart did a little jump for joy because I recognised that while some of these still really affect me, some I am ever more aware of and blaming myself for even less. This for me has just taken so so so long.. and it is so freeing to finally be stopping on all of the self hating and trying too hard to please those who really do not know or care about what I had to deal with. So I just had to post this quickly after reading a lovely poem on Gratitude by a fellow blogger too.
Today I was able to eat and get out of the house by 11 and get to the nursery and buy some lovely plants and then come home and plant them up, cleaning up mess left by recent rain and eat lunch, then I had two lovely encounters with my neighbor where we really had a great chance to share from the heart. I have eaten lunch now and the sun is out, my pots are planted up and Jasper and I will be able to do a good walk by afternoon tea time.. It just seems I have so so much to be grateful for lately..
I also wanted to take this chance to express some of that gratitude to those who help make the path forward clearer for us trauma survivors and those whose kind hearts and beautiful souls inspire me daily with their poetry that seeks to bring peace and positivity to the day.. So thank you for being here… The world is a better place because you are in it.
And don’t forget yourself … The world is a better place because you are in it too!!!!!!
