Self love

Self love is not selfish

For only through our own wholeness

Can we genuinely connect unselfishly

With the soul of another

Feeling only partial

We seek another to complete us

Forgetting we exist to find completion

Within

Yes the love of another breaks down our own barriers

To love of self and each other

Helps us to unite with aspects

of ourselves

We split off or lost

Or were not allowed to know

Not a smother love

But an allowing love

That enables both separateness

And togetherness

In an oscillating dance

Of deep emotional connection

With our soul

And the soul of another

Will set our wounded places
