there is a dark place
where I never got to fully embrace
the profound truth of who I am
a place where in order to be accepted
and to fit in
I had to deny and not ever allow myself to know
my soul’s true reality
the price of admission to this place is huge
and it means finding a false refuge
a place you are offered comfort
from the necessary storms
that may come
only to awaken you
so many run in fear from the storm
seeking control
but when you open yourself to it
body being
mind, heart and soul
there are parts of you you will find
that were never allowed
were (perhaps and mostly)
deeply shamed
that caused the fearful around you
pain
but what will you gain
if you run from the truth
hiding away the shadow of yourself
all of these vast aspect of light and shade?
do you want to go on endlessly
living in unconsciousness
or is there a time for you
to
embrace and honor
your light and fury
passion, truth
and fire?

Out of shadows and into light

Beautiful, Ivor I am sensing dark and light permanently oscillate though our culture cannot honor the redemptive darkness. it is where the new seeds always germinate.. hugs and love.. we have your rain today. xox
