Nature’s salvation

Kiss of the sunlight

Soft healing caress of wind

And even as the harsh squalls outside my window

Sing songs

Of the cold dark nights of later winter

Inside my heart is warm as your beautiful poems

Full of love of nature

Feed the thirsty places in my soul

Some understand the tree as guardian

And also as a place of sanctuary

Underneath its broad canopy

Our hearts seek shelter on the days

When grief and longing and loss

Tumble over us like wild waves

Here touching the solace of God

As we sense her presence

Is the love of the one who witnesses

Everything

No suffering we ever endure is

Unknown to her

And for us her heart aches

As she holds our being safely

Gently

With infinite tenderness

In the palm of

Her ever loving hand

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. Hi Deb and yes it was a cold wintry day … but your poem is enchanting and full of warmth … and coincidently I’m writing a Tanka about trees tonight too … I’ve done my collage feature image, and I am searching for a suitable song
Here is my Tanka, … have you any ideas for a video/song …

    Fallen Leaflets (a Tanka)

    Ancient trees of life
    Anoint colour to the sky
    Leaves shadow the ground
    Leaflet words long forgotten
    Tales of people and forests
