I watched a brilliant stand up by Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live fame a few nights ago called Lobby Baby.. It was so clever and funny I watched the last half again last night.. the parts on his wife’s OCD and how they both interact with their different styles (hers ordered and controlling, his shambolic, messy and out of control) were hilarious and he ended up taking both sides in the final 10 minutes of the performance which earned him a standing ovation from the Minneapolis crowd.
I love how humor can cut through some of the most complex subjects at times and make us smile at the ridiculousness of the human experience.. I do feel we can be serious and intelligent and get a huge boost out of humor and our own capacity to laugh at our foibles.. Irony and a sense of fun or the absurd can bring such a sense of light heartedness that is really healing and such a powerful antidote to depression, and DRAMA.. it can be such a soothing balm.
The stand up can be found on Netflix.`
Love Seth Meyers.
