Sometimes the ties that bind me
Tighten as I struggle harder and harder
Losing touch with my value
Forgetting that the world can turn
Perfectly well
Without me
Sometimes my worry
Eclipses reason
There are seasons souls endure
And some take their bearers to
Wilderness places
Our hearts feel the suffering
Of the soul gone mute
What might happen if we just
Allowed our hearts to let go
Surrendered our loved one to the will of God?
How might we feel if we just stopped
Long enough to touch base with nature and fire
Soaking in the warmth
Letting our bodies uncoil?
Could it be that a glimpse of heaven
Would then appear from behind clouds
Could it be
That we then feel the constriction around our hearts
Loosen
As the peace of silence carries us safely
Into the arms of God?
Oh its heart wrenchingly beautiful ! β€
and so thought provoking.

This piece expresses so much of the place I am standing right now – both internally and externally.
That keen construction around the heart…
that aching need to uncoil,
and see what wonders might unwind.

Amen to that I’m starting to glimpse it as a real possibility.
