dreams, visions, struggle and silence

Many years ago

They left you all alone

A young and unformed being

Trying her best to find her way

In a world peopled by strangers

So sometimes when I see where this killer isolation

Has taken all of us

I know I must look much further back

And turn my back on the professionals

There is a cry trapped deep inside of you

I hear it all of the time

As I see the deep phantoms of haunted unloved spirits

Swimming deep inside the dark pools of your eyes

Today was the closest I have ever seen you to tears

And then it was I felt the sister and the mothers there

A lineage of pain so long and tangled

Its threads all jumbled up, so in need of unravelling

There are really no words for what it is I sense

Deep inside of you

Struggling to rise

I only know I felt its sting so deep inside my heart

This place you are in

This haunted lonely place

I know it so so well

It is a deep well

And only time will help us to rise

From under its weight

Only time

And wisdom

And soul understanding

Dreams

Visions

Struggle

And silence

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. I feel such a powerful and wise insight expressed here. You are making big steps in your journey.

I relate to this poem as well. This sort of finding of a deeply buried part, but also seeing we are very familiar with the part too.

I recently came across the “Internal Family System” model. I don’t know much about it. But I found some helpful insights in it. Felt like a very compassionate view of each and every part living within us.

      1. I just recently discovered the Internal Family Systems approach so I’m still unclear of the details. The part that really stood out to me is the idea that it is a normal part of the human mind to be made up of different personalities so to say. There are exiled parts and protector parts. There are no “bad” parts. All are trying their best to protect and keep the persons going. However some parts are stuck in a protection mode that no longer matches the environment. The model also has a “self” concept it thinks all of us have. And from that grounded place we are able to communicate compassionately and calmly to the protectors and figure out what they are up to.

      2. That makes si sense and correlates to traumatised parts that become bound in fear, thus self protection
Donald Kalsched writes a lot about that. I also read a good book on the Inner Critic that shows how it develops to protect the child through criticism. I have a post on that I will send to you when I find it. Thanks so much for sharing that. I am going to research it.
