he is an archetypal force field
a net of holding that will not let you drop
into hopeless helplessness
he is a sense of power and trust
in your creative agency
in the truth and beauty of you
even hidden deep inside
all of the shadowy, ‘ugly’ messy places
he is the one who can fill your heart with courage
even as you stand poised
shivering with anxiety
on the precipice of fear
he is the force that reminds you
the truth of your spirit
is made of fire and
is eternal
he is the voice saying
you matter
I love you
take the risk to live
for even if things fail
and all is dark
if you trust
and keep moving forward
a new path will open up
and in time
all will be well
We all have, an idealistic view of, what father should be, but, our own father’s are, usually, nowhere, near, this ideal, and, our fantasies of, having a father who loves us, unconditionally, shatters…
