the healing rhythms of nature

Nature knows the balance of things

It is always adjusting itself

To the Universal rhythms

It allows its oceans to breathe

In and out and in and out

Its trees to shed

When autumn comes

So can we become

Just a little more attuned

To nature?

There is a magical cure

For all of this useless restlessness and striving

It is to stay

Closer to the harmony of the wave

And to embrace the calm

That comes from slowing down

The breath

There is a healing that can only be found

By opening

And there is a closing that will come

As one phase ends

Just as the flower closes

Or sheds it petals

There will come a time to shed

And release new seeds

A time for crying tears

To water them

A time for letting go

Of what we used to know

So we can find

A new way forward

There is an inner knowing of the right timing

And maybe can learn to follow it

When we attune both our body and our breath

To the healing rhythms

Of nature

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. Beautiful! I think so many of us are resistant to change, myself included. It’s important to remember that different doesn’t always mean worse. Thank you for sharing.
