Comfort is this sense of home
That surrounds my soul
With a powerful healing sense
Of benevolent gentleness
As glimpses of the briefest rays
Appear behind stormy clouds
Of gunmetal gray
All is silent here
Apart from the slowing hum
Of life energy winding
Inward upon itself
To embrace the night
The earth will be so grateful for the rest
As night time shadows grow
And people withdraw inside
Drawing curtains closed
Behind darkening windows
Thank you for the blessings of this day
And for the glimpses of peace I found
Within the gentle holding
Of this,
My precious hearth and home
This is beautiful! It’s such a serene poem.
