Amen to ‘the experience of being alive’
People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.

there are the physical, emotional/psychological and then finally, there’s, the spiritual level to life to consider, and each of the levels must be fulfilled before we are able to get to the next one. It’s a progression of steps.
Reminds me of this exchange between 2 brothers in Dostoevsky’s Brothers Karamazov –
“I think everyone must love life more than anything else in the world.’
‘Love life more than the meaning of it?’
‘Yes, certainly. Love it regardless of logic, as you say. Yes, most certainly regardless of logic, for only then will one grasp its meaning. That’s what I’ve been vaguely aware of for a long time. Half your work is done, Ivan: you love life. Now you must try to do the second half and you are saved”
Emerging From The Dark Night
