“The opposite of depression is not happiness, but vitality.”.. so so true.. A beautiful talk on one man’s experience of depression, anxiety and freezing in the wake of loss, eloquently articulated. There is much more to depression than articulated here, though he scratches the surface on many elements, especially the lack of love and distorted perceptions which result due to what is, at times a deeply existential experience, as well as the many ways people hide the truth of revealing they suffer from depression due to fear and shame.
This is a moving talk on one man’s struggle to understand it through interviewing many many others who suffered.

This is a great TED talk. Have you read his book on depression? It’s so indepth! He describes the experience so well.

I just wrote a post about it (well associated to my own avoidant/insecure attachment).. I knew the attachment stuff before but she writes about it so well. I love her take. Have you read her other book?
