Yes my darling it hurts
Yes my darling you bled
Yes my darling there is a need to shed
All of the masks that keep you safe
In a world that does not understand
The pain
And teaches everyone
Just to bury it
Why do we continue to deny
The wounded self
There are so many ways to hide
And lie
And stuff the truth
Down deep inside
Or project the venom
Outside
But none of these ‘solutions’
Will make us whole
For it is only when we can
Collapse and enfold
These parts of ourselves
Into the warp and weft of healing
That we will find freedom
For the shaming
Of our wounded selves
Is not deserved
And only makes our protections
And projections
Harder and harder
To let go of
Wow! Your so spot on Deb! Such amazing poetry thank you for sharing it with all of us! I loved it! ❤
