They lived there deep inside of you
All the feelings you could not speak
All the imprints of the way the world
Embraced or rejected your soul
There may be a time when
What got buried in silence
Will try to find its voice
A time when the body screams out
A time for deep listening
Be the one who will be there
Do not shut the feelings down again
Let the soft waves of your attention
Wash over the hurting places deep inside
Hold yourself as gently as you can
Give soothing to the pain
Our bodies are living beings
That respond to energies
We resonate with what happens
And some of us had no barrier
Against pain
We became the shock absorbers
Resonating with the fire and fury of trauma
And so now our bodies ask
Please hold this space
While charges make themselves known
Be the open field
Within which
What got buried
Can rise and yield to attention
Be surrendered
In the allowing
Of the knowing
In the embracing of the present moment
Be a witness
Allow the flow
Let yourself pause
Breathe and gently let go
All that is seeking to emerge
From deep inside
Love the poem and the artwork especially.

Thanks so much E it was inspired by learning of my best friend’s brother’s illness.
