In the loneliness I ached for you
This is what trauma will do
Here in the hollowed out place
That your suffering and absence left
Wild flowers grew
From seeds I watered with my tears
Shed in loneliness
And yet even deep inside that place
At times I felt embraced
By an invisible force of tenderness
Lending me the feeling
Some of it made sense
That there were at least
Some hidden healing gifts
Buried deep
Within the loneliness
And when you came
And opened your heart to me
It was then I understood
Why all of the lonelieness
Made so much sense
You are my constant star
Shining on me from afar
And even though the ways of love
Are not always clear to me
Never the less
I will always be
Grateful you showed me
With your love and tenderness
The antidote
To a lifetime
Of loneliness
That loneliness felt, came from within, and it must, be resolved, from, within, you won’t be able to find what you are looking for, outside…

I know that but once you have found it you can share it.. I have sat with my own loneliness long enough to be able to fill it…. a tender heart can open to love that is what I am trying to express in this poem. ❤
