Bobby died

My dear friend Deb’s dog Bobby had to be put to sleep this afternoon.. We did not know our last outing with Bobby would be our last and my heart is with my friend at this painful time of losing her most loved companion.. I just read a part of Jeff Foster’s book on impermanence which reminds us to treasure those gifts that are part of our life while we have them.. Lately when cuddling Jasper I give thanks for him and think of the times I got annoyed over trivialities, like him getting green duck pooh all over him.. that wasn’t probably totally trivial at all.. but I am sure you get my drift.

Its a stroke of coincidence that earlier in the week my good friend from AA and I were discussing pet loss and pet grief, he said the last words that make any kind of sense are ‘he or she was ONLY a dog!” Our four legged furry companions are spiritual buddies in the worst and best of times and for some of us with trauma or hearts hurt by human foibles and neglect or ignorance a dog’s heart and steadfast unconditional companionship offers us so much solace. I can only imagine Deb’s pain right now, cried a lot to hear the news myself, I loved Bobby too and am glad for our cuddle a few weeks ago on a very stormy windswept day when we took refuge in the car at the lake beach.. Love you Bobby, you are now Deb’s spirit guide.. Please, if you wish or feel so inclined, send prayers for my friend. As she said “it was time”. ❤ ❤ ❤

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.
