I know she hurt you deeply
I truly understand
Just want you to know
That I am here
If you ever need a heart
Or hand to hold
For dealing with the ways others hurt us
Is so hard
And leaves a rage inside
So large
At time the pain feels impossible
To hold, or manage, all alone
And underneath the rage
Are often tears
And a thousand fears
And the disbelief
That a mother ever could
Hurt so deeply
The precious child she gave birth too
But if she hated herself
And lacked tenderness
It was never your fault
Although I am sure she dumped
So much of her pain in you
So when you say you hate her so
And that the beast inside of you
Won’t let go
Of protecting you
Its only natural
That is the way
It all unfolded
And when others turn away
That hurts too
But the truth is
Their souls never entirely knew
Such a travesty or deep confusion
So at times we have to pray
Or find a way
To stay closer to
Those humans who will not betray
Our genuine feeling
Your heart is safe with me.
This poem is so loving. Beautiful! ππ
