longing sometimes drowns
within a pool of tears
silenced by the deaf ears
of those who standing near
taught us only to fear
this
being alive
no wonder we cried
and even more
when those tears were never dried
burying the truth of how we felt
hiding away our longing
locking it deep inside a metal box
with a sign that said
forbidden
so now that we are breathless
from the missing of it
now that we must live
denying it
where does longing go
and how does it show
to us the truth
of what we did
so very long ago
sad to say
we lost the way
to we really are
deep inside our hearts
ransoming the truth
paying the most terrible price
of losing our way
to longing

This is so very true. Beautifully said.
