The warp and weft of life
Is a tide we must learn
To ride
Steering our sails
Between the powerful urges
Of love and hate
Looking for a forward direction
That does not speak too intensely
Of perfection
Finding a way instead
To be at comfort inside the dread
That so often rises
When life’s disguises
Prove to be untrue
There is always here
Deep inside my chest
An ocean breathing
Sometimes the tide is flowing in
At other times it is leaving
At times it carriedme so far away
That I am amazed
I could ever have stayed
Alive
And yet I did
Even when the waves
So completely
Overpowered my being
Tumbling me over
On the rollercoaster
Only later did I see
What the Universe tried to offer
In opportunities
Unreceived
So often denied due to fear
Because so often
Things are never as clear
As they can appear
For who amongst us knows
What the future brings
Light and joy
Freedom and fire
Or pain and suffering
For maybe ours is not to know
All of the ways of the ocean
Only to try our very best
To let go
While we listen for the inner knowing
Of how
To most fully
Enter the flow
Allowing the washing clean
Of all that could never be
Brought into being
I could sense your emotions throughout this poem Deb… these lines echoed in my heart….
“. Even when the waves
So completely
Overpowered my being
Tumbling me over
On the rollercoaster”

Hi Deb, I went for a walk just before lunch… back home now… I’ve got one of my headaches today…. out in my little courtyard garden, potting some new plants… and relaxing… I’ve written a couple of poems… my music plays in courtyard, so I’m happy and comfortable….humming away….ππ ((hugs))
