tummy rising and falling with your breath
soft fur a sea of white and black
swirling with the unfurling
of doggie dreams
give me this quietness
outside the turmoil of human company
a gentleness to draw close to
in the quiet of night
empty fullness of being
concealing and revealing
a life surrendered to being
resting together
cosy within
these few precious hours
of peace
