life force

resplendent skies of blue

surround us in this earthly paradise

as silence sounds its healing hum

here within the surrounding life

darkness is but a distant memory

and yet at times

when we open our human ears

to the cries of fear

we become lost to peace

what will it take for us to

awaken

maybe we have forsaken

all that is of most value

walking past the very places

where we could draw

comfort

thinking nothing of them

how sad

that this world is so alive with life force

and yet we who abide here

become

deaf, dumb and blind to it

ransoming our souls to things

that are only temporary

abandoning the very life force

that we could tap into

if only we

remembered

what really brings us relief
