A rebirth of love

I hope for there to be

Within this climate of instability

An opening of our hearts and minds

A surrender of selfishness

And fear embraced or left behind

Not that fear can ever completely disappear

And not that we must not

Take care of our lives

But surely if there is to be a place

Within the human race for love

Then we must also open

In those places where we are encouraged

Only to be closed

To embrace a sense of community

Even as the powers that be

Are encouraging this social distancing

Surely all of this confusion and fear

Should have a higher purpose than

Terror of death alone

Is there a way that within this climate

Of terror and change

We can work together

To engineer

A rebirth of love
