Its seems like so long since I had a sense of my own personal forward direction apart from undertaking the long and complex process of emotional recovery…. I just read a very interesting post from Benny K of the Written Addiction about moving forward and being positive while accepting what happens to us and not using it to derail us further.. We all know all too well how negative thoughts can tend to try to stop us making that change or taking that essential step forward or even trying something new, so noticing how we perceive and react is essential In learning to navigate change. I am going to link to the post at the end of this, I believe in what he writes about the acronym S.T.A.N.D. I particularly liked the lines :
This does not mean disappointments will not happen. Instead, this means we will accept what happens, rather than link them to old tapes because our new system of navigation will help us to turn our perceived obstacles into opportunities to overcome.
Linking to old tapes was what stood out to me.. How often do we re-run the past over and over or convince ourselves that just because something happened in the past the present thing cannot be done or attempted?
For me, my life over the past 20 years seems to have been so deeply embedded in unravelling from my own family’s trauma narrative, that at times my own clear goals, desires, dreams and objectives have been obscured. I find guidance in my therapy and astrology to my true self and heart’s desire but manifesting something outside of it has never come to pass. My blog was an outgrowth of that, in order to write about it but sometimes I wonder where my own clear direction lies.. This post has made me think about it..
Here is the link.. I hope the post offers you something:
