The you I need
Is very far from me
Living his own life
Dreaming his own dreams
Feeling his own suffering
Unable to respond
While longing to be responded to
Wake up
Both of us
What is love?
If not the extension into someone else’s reality
If only long enough to gain a glimpse
Of what lies hidden
Deep inside the silence
Wrapped up in my own world
I can care for you
But I cannot live your life
Or even know your pain
If you wont take the risk of opening your heart to me
Don’t you know we all have pain
But the real shame lies
In our inability to deeply reflect upon
How our own desire and will
Can cripple those
Whose burden it is not to carry
So love if it is to be deep and true
Must make all kinds of allowances
But most of all
Set each other’s soul free of demands
Impossible for us to meet
At times in our lives, we finally, and suddenly realized, that what we have, is, what we don’t need, and even, quite, harmful, to us…

I believe I am at this point. Nothing outside of us helps us more than our own inner love. Without that we are well and truly lost.
