Unbutton

If you would

Please take my hand

And lead me down

Beside the cool stream that flows

And with each tender kiss

From your precious lips

Slowly awaken my soul to bliss

If you could

I will follow you

As slowly I unbutton

Every single part of me

That I closed

Before

For heaven knows

If you opened your soul and desire to me

My body and soul

Would be yours for the asking

I would no longer hold my self back

From the brink

Of surrendering to

What I most long for

And so often fear

Is an abyss

But was

Only

Ever

Love

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

      1. I’ve never studied poetry writing, actually I did poorly at school with English Expression !! My poem writing basically grew from my fascination with singer/songwriters such Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Van Morrison, Neil Young, and also little known ones, David Francey and Sean Rowe along with our wonderful Australian Paul Kelly. I would intently listen to the lyrics and copy them down. They all have insightful comments on the world we live in…… Later on when I was caring for Carole I found the background of my avid interest in their lyrics, seemed to naturally pour out of me, into all these poems…… 💙💙😢🌏🌏

      2. We must be a little similar there, Ivor as from a young age I went to songs and lyrics on the afternoons at home alone. I think poetry comes from an inner spring. Your love of music just shines through.

Have you seen Paul Kelly’s poetry collection, Love is As Strong as Death?

I heard a couple of interviews with him and loved them.

Yes its a great vessel for all emotions, too. xoox
