One of my favourite bands and albums for uplifting my spirit and touching happiness, expansion and joy is the Lighthouse Family’s Greatest Hits. It takes me back to the UK, the difficult days of living for a few months with my ex husband’s Mum, Angela while I tussled with the mutual pull between the UK and my family in Australia. Australia finally won out after a lot of pressure was put on me and I got frozen there and made one more return to the UK in 2005 after Jonathan and I separated in 2004. This album and the songs on it remind me how deeply intertwined are sadness and happiness, hope and despair and when I need a lift, the Lighthouse Family never fails to deliver.
This are twoof my favourite tracks.
I could never tolerate the cold in UK it seemed to cut through to the bones, yet here again it is so cold in winter cannot get warm. 2004 was a saddest year I had to walk away from my son as I no longer knew him.
