Flames

When I feel deep inside my heart

How fear and grief have blocked

Me from fully embracing

And living life

I cry deep deep tears

From that ocean heart

As I feel the swell of both love and pain

That wants to rise

And wash the hurting clean

And as I feel the heat

Of fires burning

And know that someone chose

To set the place alight

I wonder how they could

Wreak this kind of destruction

But then I also think of all the times

My heart was set a flame by pain

And recognise the lessons

Breathing the recognition in

Feeling the surge of the flare

Beneath my skin

And if the whole east coast is burning

Maybe there is some lesson that will be

Born

From within the flames

For often fire sets something else alight

Brings some healing

Are these just my vain

Wonderings and imaginings

Or is there a truth here

And if possible

Can a freer love

Be born

From the bearing with

And passing through

The searing and deep soul cleansing

Of these burning flames

I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

    1. It truly is a profound spiritual force. In esoteric astrology they talk of several forms of fire. I was thinking here of the need for old elements to be burnt away that cause us suffering and arrest growth. but fire can also be used for self protection. Its a very deep and powerful element of nature and creation.
