The dark lotus

It is there

Filling you with fear

The dark place

Your fall from grace

Into pain and emptiness

But my friend

Often only your soul

Can light the spark

To illuminate the dark

And the key lies within

The deepest part of you

Sometimes we need the light

Of those whose souls have been

Most intimately acquainted with the dark

To show us the way

To embrace it

And rather than run from pain

Turn to face the truth again

Reclaiming our soul

From the shadows or heavy weight

That eclipse and drag us down

Holding is prisoner

Within this place of suffering

There is a way to live again

If we can only find

The source of love

Become the force of love

Our struggling soul is dreaming of

Holding mindfully with the pain

While tears fall down like rain

And realisation dawns

Here in the dark

Lies the seed

Of the lotus self

That longs for life

And finds it germination

In the depths of the mud

The rich fertile darkness

Of suffering challenges and pain

All come as gifts

To restore

The lost life in us

Through pain
