Some ghosts never leave us
They call out our name
Along long corridors of time
Hiding in the shadows we find
When emptiness surrounds us
Resonating with the rush of the wind
Calling us kin
Seeking to separate us from
The ones who stand waiting
With their hands and hearts open
Some ghosts will not let go
Even though they know
We deserve new life
So sometimes when the loneliness gets too much
You must close your ears
To their pleas
Carried towards you
On the whisper of the wind
And be brave enough
To take the risk
To step into life again
For god knows we cannot live happily
Surrounded only
By the comfort of ghosts
We all have our ghosts, I forever wish my ghosts to stay friendly in amongst my dream-time stained white sheets……

I think when we can turn our ghosts into friends or at least give them a place at the table they slowly loosen their hold over us. What we reject just seems to persist.
