Here within the night that is black

I will say your name

Like a prayer

Opening all the longing in my heart

You awoke

In days of light

Now gone

Now that the sun has set

And the time has come

To close the door on us

I kneel on the ground

Before my gaze

A pool of tears

When truth is finally revealed

Places of hiding will be surrendered

As the naked heart sings its song

And before too long

A new dawn will rise

As illusions are cut down to size

Then there will be no more ways to hide

As I seek a way to release the lies

That tore my life to pieces

While in the depths of night

I say your name like a prayer
