You and I

Often I sit here

And feel as though I am stranded

So very far away on a foreign shore

I look to you and your gaze is turned away

And then I fall into my emptiness

But I also know that with my loving attention

In time emptiness can become full

As I feel the longings of my self I had to bury

And realise it was futile to reach in this way

For your attention and love

And yes, then I want to get somewhere

So very far away

To the place where I feel whole

Unbroken by this pain

And yet when I leave you I feel the darkness

In my soul of past memories of leavings

All the times I was cast out

Especially after Dad died

To wander in the world alone.

Today I told you of the pain

Of the darkest years

But those are far behind me now

And yet sometimes

The scars remain

And all I can do now is realise

That I can be with you in this now

And that in time I can also walk away

Knowing now the healing power

Of forgiveness in my heart

For so much that hurt me in the past

That made me feel so lonely

And set apart

Knowing it was all for a reason

The painful revelation

Of my truest Self

I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.
