Stay with me
I remember how it felt to touch your hand
As we drew our initials in the sand
Only to watch the waves wash them away
Come the close of day
Rest with me
Under the shade of the huge gum tree
As it sheds its bark
And we navigate the arc
Of each others embrace
Undress me
While we hold each other’s gaze
Remembering how it feels
To be amazed
By the sight of someone you adore
So close to you
Lay with me
After our love is spent
Dreaming those dreams
Only lovers can invent
As we await the advent of the stars
And a view of Mars
In the darkening sky
From which the setting sun
Has slowly retired
This is a lovely poem Deb…. sorry I’m tired tonight… maybe I be able to catch up tomorrow.. ((hugs))
