Wild ocean (heart)

Maybe there is a correlation

Between the depths hidden in your heart

And a wild ocean

Which at times is placid and calm

Other times full of commotion

Sorrow and feelings of alarm

Feelings of threat

Fears of harm

Oscillate within it’s

Systole diastole variations

Here as you focus deep within

The centre of yourself

Sense too the petals of

A flower

Slowly opening and closing

Noticing how the breath

Can also stop

With fear of ego death

And how your being then contracts

As everything begins to close up

Tightening up inside itself

As your consciousness

Feels pulled back

Along with

The holding of your breath

Notice too how

Your heart

Wild ocean

Is often stormy

Some times calm

Full of peace

Or in high alarm

And remember this

That who you truly are

Is witness of your heart

The one who consents to

Surrender to it waves

Or dive deep into

Its hidden depths

Finding the way to ride the flow

Towards a more fully awakened life

And further away from

A living death
