We must allow ourselves to grieve
Even though we may fear that the darkness
Will totally overcome us
Or that the sadness and tears that we feel rising
Will wash us entirely away
Because the truth is
That more suffering
Comes from resisting our genuine embodied experience
Than from surrendering
To that which only desires
To open us up
To the truest depths
Of our heart and soul
This is so true, Deb.
You must allow yourself to feel it, all of it. To deny it is to compress the pain, which will only come back stronger.

I know, Marc, But it is so hard when you try to bring your grief out and get shamed or even laughed at. I still turn against some of my true feelings due to internalising some of these voices, but this book I am reading does validated grief.
Much love to you, dear friend. xoox
