An open clearing

Some times there is this

An open clearing that emerges from the dark

As if by magic

Just as sunlight today

Shone through the clouds of fog

That blanketed the day

Sometimes too

When it is darkest

And when we just have the courage to stay

With a heart that is breaking

Soon enough some light and healing

Will come through

So this is what I want to say to you

Do not run from your darkness

And do not second guess

The coming of the light

Sometimes we have to surrender

And other times fight

And sometimes we fall

So far down

But remember then

There is no other way to go

But up

And in time

If you just trust

As needs must

An open clearing will reveal

Horizons and destinations

That you begin to feel

Hold something new

Something heartbreakingly precious
