Can I believe in love?
Or rather
Can I believe in the power
Of a heart that stays open to trust
Even in the midst of a deluge or a flood of longing
Surging, cresting and breaking
Beaching me upon
The lonely shores of despair
Can I bear
To feel the full force of my heart shattering
As it does
When heaven denies me a glimpse
Of the very thing I set my desire upon
Can I feel the love that lies hidden there
Beneath the surface
And can I show enough love
To the hurting self
So that I can be
Carried across
This seemingly unfathomable ocean
Of loss?
I do believe in love
I believe it is there
Even if hidden underneath
The frustration of thwarting or despair
It is the force that forever seeks its source
Only to find at the end
That the truest love
Is the deepest underground spring
Of acceptance, trust and understanding
That arises from within
Beautiful

With love they comes hidden snail trails of hurt
with denial of love, there only comes dust and dirt
