The deeper truth
Is that love was always there
But it was harder to feel it
In a world so often turned away
That left us so alone
With no one at all
To bear our insides to
And then at times
The world only gave us pain
Or taught us to feel shame
For being this way
The way we really were
So is it any accident
That we learned to hide our truth
So deep inside
Silence our voice
And turn away too
This I know
There are many of us out there
With hearts of gold
That life laid a tarnish over
And when we seem to feel the sun
That sense of warmth
And calm acceptance of another
It is then that the rust of tarnish
Turns to dust
And falls to the ground
As we water it with all of our tears
That are the result of years and years and years
Of living bound by fears
That blocked us from
The path of love
And until we see the pain and wound we bear
And water it with our own
Compassion, understanding and care
We will never find a way to fully live
Embracing the wound
In ourselves and each other
Embracing love
beautiful…:)
