In the silence
I will centre within
Listening for the hidden language of my heart
At times the world seemed to encourage me to live
So far apart
From this connection with myself
It taught me that heads and minds and appearances and bodies
Were what counts
That looking good and stepping up was the way to live
But now that I see the myriad of ways
In which my soul can be led astray
I understand how important it is
To spend time centering
And listening within
To the resonant echoes
Inside the silence
And when I feel tempted to loneliness
I will instead
Paying heed to the still small voice
That connects me to truth
And then I will know
That part of me is never completely alone
But connected to love
A part of everything
I love this post. Not sure that it’s so easy to follow (to look within, to find it all there, be okay with it), but as a wish, it’s cool.

I know and life these days is so busy and distracting we often don’t get or create the chance.

You write poems that I feel come from straight from your core. This was one of them.
Loved the lines about the world forcing you from the centre of yourself. So well expressed.
