You wandered alone
In a world of strangers
Looking for a place to belong
Never realising all along
That you had it backwards
And the love that you were seeking
Lay always undiscovered
Buried so very deep deep down
Inside of you all along
And now you realise
Sometimes wandering
Is not the greatest thing
If you have to travel far and wide
To find the home
That always existed deep inside
Or in another’s heart
Or maybe that too
Was why you wandered
Always wondering when
You would meet another soul
Who could see into your own
And together make a home
But whose loving eyes
Was it really
You were seeking
And was this seeking all about
The present
The past
Or presence !
So much searching, so much time and energy trying to find something that’s either elusive or that was inside you all along, but you never know until you go through the process and find it.. or don’t find it, as the case may be. Great piece, Deborah. xx
