Night time descending
Reminds me that you may be
Taken from me at any moment
And I have looked death hard in the eye
Before
Knowing there was
At the final hour
No other way than to accept
What was passing
After all the years of battling with
Far earlier losses I could not
Yet reconcile
So now when we speak
Of how much you worry
Or other reasons cancer may have come
Again
I must just remember to nourish
And be grateful for
This poignant present moment
Let me look deeply into your eyes
Let me listen as tenderly as I can
To your heart
Let me remember that at any moment
All of this could be taken
And so we must open our arms wide
To embrace it
As fully as we can
Before the light disappears
And night time
Again
Descends
This is such a deeply emotional poem. So haunting. Hope you are ok.

Yes, I am but I had lunch with my sister and she locked herself out of her place. I just feel for her so much at the moment. This poem just came out of this place….Thanks so much for your concern. I hope you are having a good Sunday.
